Toys with lead paint from China: Who supply the Chinese workers with the lead paint-working in a US Company?

Maybe Fines or criminal charge?Toys with lead paint from China: Who supply the Chinese workers with the lead paint-working in a US Company?
Does anyone else worry that if tiny doses of this paint are considered dangerous for Western children...what effect might it have on the workers who are around it every day???

And of course its the fault of the Western parent companies and they should have to pay for it. But thats not how the world works today... so they will just keep fining the Chinese. Until they become more powerful than the West, which considering population growth and the introduction of capitalism might not be that far away... We can just hope they treat the West better than our ancestors treated theirs...Toys with lead paint from China: Who supply the Chinese workers with the lead paint-working in a US Company?
US company? Chinese run company located in China.
China does not respect the environment so much that over 300,000,000 of it's citizens drink from polluted water. Also they do not respect our safety laws. What exactly is the acceptable levels of lead based paint any way?
I agree. Most of the Chinese companies are likely contract manufacturers, regardless ultimate responsibility lies with the US company enlisting their services. Obviously the US company did not do a good job ensuring proper inspections and requirements were in place to protect their customers. They should be fined and fined heavily!
Apparently you do not understand how supply chains work.

Companies sub-contract work in order to leverage their production capacity. The control of these sub-contractors is always a matter that leads to such problems. The subs, in an attempt to increase profitability and in the believe that they are somehow isolated from liability, will choose the cheapest materials they can get away with.

Exactly how do the top-level US corporations end up holding the bag for Chinese domestic behavior?
Fines hands down!!! W eneed boycott of Wallmart!!!
Corrupt Chinese boss supply poison for baby Capitalist!
I sometimes wonder if the lead paint is done on purpose, just like all the food coloring in food contributing to ADD.

Anyways some American companies are to blame.
fines

my 4 year old played with some of these toys
No. This isn't blame America first this time. China is responsible. You have to understand China's manufacturing patterns. They are not like ours where most items are produced in one spot. China has a history of producing many parts in many locations, and then they are assembled at a specific location. This is a strategy that originates from WW II. The pattern continues today. In the case of the toys, they were sent to a certain location after assembly to be painted - the last task in the process. It was the painting facility that acquired the wrong paint. America didn't do it. The U.S. has learned that if trade goods don't cross borders, one day soldiers will. That's ONE reason for this manufacturing agreement. However, I liked the days where America manufactured for America.
since when were they American owned companies?
