Why don't you try going to areas with U's/Colleges that are known for their Art programmes. There're usually art supply stores near them %26amp; I'm sure they'll offer competitive price.
I believe there're a couple of them (art supply stores) in the Melawati area - near the Malaysian Institute of Art. The commerce area by MRR2. Are you familiar with Sakura Crystal or Pha Pha Seafood Restaurant? In that area, especially in the same row as a Chinese Muslim restaurant (I forget the name) - the street name I believe is Jalan Negara.
