Which store is cheaper MIchael's or Hobby Lobby for painting supplies?

Neither one is really 'cheapest.' Michael's is a chain store owned by Aaron Brother's Art Stores with over-priced art materials. Hobby Lobby stores are 'franchised' stores catering to the housewife type hobby weekend painter and they, too, are over-priced.

Both Michael's and Hobby Lobby have inflated prices. Even when you think you're buying something from Michael's 'on sale' you're still paying more for your art supplies there than you would at either Blick's or Pearl's for their regular prices.

Your best bet, depending on where you live, is to look for a Blick's, a Pearl's or a Urtech near you. If you don't have any of these three near you then a regular local art supply store will still be cheaper than either Michael's or Hobby Lobby.Which store is cheaper MIchael's or Hobby Lobby for painting supplies?
I teach art at both stores and find Hobby Lobby more reasonable with their prices...especially in the art department. They also have knowledgeable staff who are eager to help. Their canvas are a lot better quality, they also have a better choice of brushes which are better quality. Also, easels .....they have so a lot more to choose from at good prices. Go on line and check out both prices. Oh...you can also print out Hobby Lobby's weekly coupon where you can't with Michael's.Which store is cheaper MIchael's or Hobby Lobby for painting supplies?
Try some of the college and university book stores. Most of the supplies that art professors require for their classes are often stocked in the student book stores.

';Mr Killigan,'; YOU are the idiot. Who else but artists WOULD know the comparative prices of art supplies? Those of us who are familiar with either of these two stores may be able to offer some insight to this question. And, the only reason I get personal with YOU is because YOU chose to carry it in that direction.
I find that Michael's is a better for all supplies. They have great sales and 40% off coupons often. I am in the Midwest so I suppose it would depend on your area.
most likely hobby lobby

and wal mart
